Cedar Point Rules!

We are back from Cedar Point and we had a blast (and Tri, I did take my books with me). Our oldest son rode on several of the rides. He didn't like the Woodstock Express (a 4 on a scale of 5) which is a roller coaster. Although he did ride on it twice. All in all the day went very well considering we had two kids under 3 with us and we were at the park from 11:30 AM until 10:00 PM. It was a long day for all of us.
I'm getting close to finishing my first class, Statistics. I need to work on the Accounting class. I have about 7 chapters to read in the next 3 weeks. School is going ok, I'm just starting to think about how the online classes are going to go and how much time I'll need to spend on it. As my sister, Tri, said in a comment to my last post, I'm the same guy I was in college. I was able to effectively manage classes, sports, recreation, and social without missing out on anything (except for missing one test due to a scheduling error). Anyway that was a long time ago and I have learned a lot since then.
On top of everything else, I'm thinking about running in a 15 K in September as part of my training for the Indy Mini Marathon in May 2007. My goal is to run the mini in under 2 hours. Oh and I think I will be seeded in the mini. I ran a 5K time of 25 minutes and change and that qualifies me to be seeded (or I think it was stated as preferred, but I sound better being seeded). I just read last night in my Runner's World magazine about an 81 year old guy who can still break 7 minutes a mile. So I guess I still have some time to get to that 6 minute per mile goal of mine!

Hello again! It has been a while. Busy week. My wife's car broke down about an hour from where we live on Monday. She was coming home from work. I had both kids (27 and 4 months) with me. I have to call my mother-in-law and ask her to watch the kids while I drove an hour to meet my wife. It just made for a long day. I feel like I'm still trying to catch up on sleep.
I had a weird dream last night. I was running in a marathon and I had not trained for it. I was doing the mental thing trying to stay calm and convince myself I could make it, just this one time. I woke up a little tired from the run. The funny thing is that I have not run for about 2 weeks. Maybe I need to start running again.
As far as my schooling goes, I'm getting ready for my one week on campus. I'm one lesson from being finished with my statistics class and I'm just starting on the Accounting class. I still have about three weeks until the week on campus, plus another couple of weeks until the fall classes start.
I'm pretty excited about next weekend. Our family is talking about going to Cedar Point. I love the roller coasters. I know it will be hard with two young kids, but I know they will like it too. Plus I love winning prizes at the basketball shooting game. Last time I went I won a small basketball, a full size basketball, and a pimp hat for my friend's daugther (because he couldn't win one for her).
Anyway that is a quick update. Later!

Early morning, late night

Wow, I guess I'm going to get tested in all kinds of things. I'm working on my 2 primer classes for my MBA (which starts in 4 weeks). I'm half done with the stats and just getting started with the accounting. On top of that, my 4 month old son got up at about 3:00 AM last night (this morning). We didn't get to bed until after 11:00 PM. My wife got up and fed our youngest. At about 4:00 AM my oldest son (27 months) woke up and was calling out for mom. So the youngest was handed off to me to sleep in our bed while mom headed to the other one. About 4:30 AM my wife came back and said he was asleep in the guest bed. She asked me to move him into his room. In doing so he woke up and I got to sleep (lie) part on the floor and part in his Thomas bed.
I got back to our room in time to help shut off the alarm and then it was off to the showers. When I got out my oldest was now asleep in my bed and my wife was rocking the youngest. It is going to be a long day. I need to study, but I thought I would write this update.
Oh, on a brighter note; This week is fair week in town. My work is just across the street so I get to go for lunch a couple of times. I have not been there yet, but I want to go today. There is an 80% change of rain today, so there you go. Hope everyone is having better luck than me.

Another post for my people

Ok, I know if has been over a week since the last post. I'm not off to a good start. I guess I'm really starting to figure out how much time I'm going to need to go back to school. I'm taking two primer courses. Accounting and statistics. The statistics is mostly about Excel (which I know pretty well), but I have to read everything to make sure there is not something new I don't know about. The stat class is all online (no book). The Accounting class has a book I will use this fall. The first lesson includes reading chapter 1 and 2 (each chapter is about 40-50 pages). I'm finding I can read about 3-4 pages before something else has to be done or I fall asleep. I'm trying to read at work during lunch, but Friday I had to nap for about 10 minutes (because I was head nodding anyway).
Yesterday my wife and I cleaned out the garage. We finally have all of the cars in the garage. We had to take a lot of stuff to the basement. I must have made 25 trips with as much as I could carry. My back was a little sore yesterday, but today I'm sore all over. My in-laws (who live next door) are going boating today. We would like to go, but we haven't been invited yet. We need to go to the grocery store anyway. How can you have two kids and not have any milk? Actually we just ran out last night.
We did get to do some more fireworks last night. My son loves them. He just grins from ear to ear when they pop and flash. He even likes the loud ones. It was a lot of fun. Although due to the time change to Eastern in Indiana we had to do them at 8:45 pm and it was still light out. It wasn't dark enough to do them until about 10:15. Way to late for a 2 year old.

First Post

Here is my first post. I tried to do one just a second ago and with Microsoft's popup blocker, I could not do a spell check. So I clicked to allow popups from this website and whoosh .... There went everything I have written. So now I get to start again.
I'm starting this blog thanks to my sister. You can find her blog at http://triaspirations.blogspot.com. To keep up with her I'm starting mine. Here is a little background information on me. I just got accepted to the 18th ranked MBA school in the county (according to Business Weekly). I have a full time job, two kids, and a wife. Outside of all of that, I like to run, play basketball, golf, PS2, etc. We just built a new house and moved in November 2006. We still don't have grass, just mud or dirt depending on the weather.
That's all I have for now, but I'll try to update this a couple of times a week. A lot depends on my sister. We are a little (a lot) competitive. Boiler up!
